Yavapai Title Agency’s Sedona and Cottonwood branches took part in the Kids Against Hunger community packing event on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 at the Verde Valley Fairgrounds. Employees of these branches were among the more than 500 volunteers. In 12 hours, more than 250,000 meals were packed.
Of the meals packed, 100 percent will be distributed to local food banks, missions, churches, schools and senior centers. Kids Against Hunger is a not-for-profit organization that packages and distributes meals to Haiti and local communities. In the past, the organization has sent approximately 85 percent of the meals to Haiti. However, the needs of the local communities, where it has a presence, are now being fulfilled with a goal of 50 percent of the packaged foods to be distributed locally.
